I received brilliant care from Azeem in A&E. I was particularly nervous as you’re not allowed to bring a family member with you, understandably. Azeem was very kind and chatted to me which made me feel more at ease. I was very scared to have a cannula inserted and an arterial blood sample taken. I appreciated his honesty that it would hurt a little and it was much less painful than I expected, which made me feel a lot calmer. Azeem went above and beyond, letting me ask him lots of questions despite being very busy and going the extra mile, explaining everything to my worried parents over the phone. I feel very grateful for the care I received and I think Azeem is a positive role model for all healthcare professionals.

Dr Thahir was absolutely brilliant this morning in hospital. He explained in a very detailed and precise manner in what way the procedure would be carried out , he made me feel comfortable and at ease.During the procedure he talked to me throughout and made sure everything was ok.I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Thahir and the nurses present for making my brief visit to hospital a pleasant time.Thankyou

Azeem was clear and understanding and explained everything in full and listened to my concerns and answered questions. He told some the follow up and advice and how to look after myself after. The main thing for me was that he was informative, didn’t use to much jargon but made me understand all the medical terms but was friendly and approachable.

When I arrived at Colchester Hospital’s emergency unit on late Wednesday night of 23 July 2020, I was a very scared man. Having lost my left leg with below knee amputation, the massive swelling of my right leg was incredibly worrying. I met Dr Thahir and told him of my worries and he went to explain things to me. I then calmed down and realised I was in a good place where people knew what they were talking about. After a few procedures I was allowed to go home. The Doctor told me what was going to happen the following day. The following morning, I was pleased that everything was going like a well oiled watch. And Dr Thahir had set things up exactly as he told me it would be done. Everything has ended well and things are back to normal. I noticed that the pressure and the rate the whole team worked at was hectic. And I think the whole lot of them should be treasured and I send my thanks to all of them. So the answer to your question is good. Yours sincerely, Michael Butt
